Shopper Hi, how do you construct this bivy, do you need to pole it to the ground? Is it usable to use indoors on wooden floors?

PATRICK N You do not need to pole it to the ground, so in my opinion it can be used indoors. Be aware that the arch does not stand as upright and perfect as in the picture. It takes a little engineering on the user?s part. This is a nice bivy for the price and the weight though. If price and weight does not matter look at some of the other bivys for ease and roominess. Even better test them out at a store before purchase if you can. I hope this is helpful.
PAT P You insert one pole to keep the top off of your face. You don't need to put the pole in if you don't want to. You could totally use it indoors, but isn't the whole point of it to provide shelter from the elements? :)
OSCAR R You don't need the screen indoors, so you can use it w/o the stakrs. For the screen to be lifted off of your face, you do need to stake out the head of the bivi.
JOHN B It has a fiberglass pole that flexes over you head to hold the tent up. It was made to for outdoors (grass, dirt). If you put it on a wooden floor I wood put a pad under it.
ROBERT R There is a single, collapsible, delrin pole which forms the hoop. The pole is slid into a pocket on the upper part of the bivy, near where your face would be if you were lying in the bivy. It won't stand on its own unless you zip the bivy. Just don't zip it fully close because you need some ventilation. I suppose you could use it indoors if you wanted to, but that would be overkill.
