JEMUEL L off the top of my head, roughly 30 L I think. I bought it as a gift. She uses it for her 17 in laptop, which it holds very well. two small water bottle holder on the each side. It would work well for a day pack maybe a ultra-light overnight pack. although it has two flaps on the inside that flip out and for the likes of me i cant figure out what they are there for. i think they are to expand the pack and keep it open for some reason. they fold out of the way. they can be cut out if weight is an issue.

ROBERT R I have an HP dv7 with a 17.3" screen (about the largest) and it just fits. Most laptops will fit fine. The bag is great and padded well. Highly recommended.

KEITH O Hey ruth - I have a 15 inch laptop which fits perfectly. I think you could put a 17 in there - but I am not positive. Keith
