Just what I was looking for. The flexibility to have different jackets all in one. Especially the water resistant as I did not have one. The wind resistant is additional benefit.

I purchased this for a trip to Alaska as the waterproof and zip out feature was recommended. I ordered a large since all my jackets are large in grey. I take a 42 suit.The jacket came quickly and it was very large almost boxy. I called customer service and despite the fact that they're policy for exchange says size change only they kindly allowed me to change the color and size free of charge. What great customer service! The replacement jacket arrived promptly and I couldn't be happier. The ...medium fits well abiet a little snugger than I typically buy but it looks smart. Without the liner it's perfect. I will certainly buy from them again. Hoping this works well in Alaska. Be nice to them and they'll treat you well.

I purchased my jacket last season (Dec 2014). I got the Black with Graphite Liner. The inside of the liner is shiny and disco-ish, as you describe it. It's not my preference for looks, but I must admit that it WORKS! I've had many Columbia 3-in-1 jackets and this one is by far the least bulky and most warm one I've owned. I assume the "shiny" material works like the foil emergency blankets and reflects your body heat back towards you. That being said it does not sound like foil by any means.

So on Columbia's website for this, it says it's "Omni-Tech™ waterproof/breathable critically seam sealed".
I think almost everything Columbia does is with OmniI-tech.
The interior is somewhat disco-ish, but that's the inner lining of the outer coat. There's an inner fleece coat too and covers that up. It's not highly disco-ish like the silvery reflective lining used in very modern coats and for emergency heat blankets.
