Great entry level all weather tent!

The best things about this tent is you really could put 3 people and gear in it; and the rain fly does a couple of things really well. In windy/rainy conditions it keeps the rain out and when condensation is an issue...it collects on the fly and not the inside of the tent wall where it could wick into your sleeping bags and gear. The Holligan is easy to set up, but more difficult to take down and fit back into carry case. It is also a bit on the cumberson and heavy side. It would be difficult...

#1 Tent for Our Troop

The Coleman Hooligan 3-person tent is the ONLY tent we buy for our Boy Scout Troop. For years now we have joked that this is the Official Troop Tent. We love how the rain fly goes all the way to the ground and that there is a vestibule at the front (a "front porch" we call it) to put your wet/dirty boots and gear before going into the tent. Just a great tent all around, even Boy Scouts can't destroy these things,we only need to replace every few years and we go camping every month.

Shopper  what is the weight?
GARY H  The Coleman Hooligan 3 - including the carrying case is about 12 pounds.
WALTER P  The total packed weight is 11.0 pounds in the case. I have used it back packing and car camping. A little heavier than I would like but for the money, it is an excellent buy.
JUDD W  Packed in its carrying case, with the tent, fly, poles, and stakes, this tent weighs 13 pounds.
QIMING C  For regular camping, the weight is good. But for long distance hiking & camping, you may need to consider a lighter one.
KYLE F  I would guess 15-20 lbs - not suitable for lightweight or backpacking. Bag and tent is too big for that.
RANDY H  The weight is about 15 pounds total...not bad if you are car camping but it's a bit heavy for backpackiing. I carried mine backpacking on several trips, split the weight with my backpacking partner so it wasn't as bad but still a bit heavy. It will leak too at the seems on the rainfly so if you buy it set it up and spray the rainfly with some of that waterproofing stuff and that'll take care of it. Overall it's not a bad tent, a little difficult for one person to set up but it can be done. Hope this help, just let me know if you have anymore questions.
