Can you use this in packs other than a Camelbak? Like a regular day pack with a reservoir compartment?

YEs you should. Only difference camelpak bag designed for perfect fit, holds in place, has option which side you want the hose on and clips on shoulder strap. If your bag has all this then your fine.

Yes, these can easily be used in a pack other than a camelback. I use it in a very large backpack of another brand, that has a large hydration sleeve. there are a number of connect points on the top of the camelback reservoir that allow it to be used in a range of compartments. I have the large, 3-liter model, so it is big, but it can be used in daypacks as well. I carried it in an REI "flash" series pack, on our final ascent to Humboldt Peak in the summer of 2011. I also carried it in my High Sierra Long Trail 90 as we did 80 miles in Philmont in the summer of 2012. So, not only versatile, but durable.

Yes you can - I do use them that way. Make sure your day pack has a compartment of a sufficient size. Camelback has different reservoirs, so you can find the one with the right dimensions.

Yes, it can be used in any pack. It wil work best if your pack has a loop or small clip at the top of the inside of the pack because there is a plastic hook on the top of the camelbak to keep it from sliding down inside the pack as it gets emptied out.

Yes, but be sure to check the dimensions/capacity of the pack first to make sure your reservoir will fit. I use my reservoirs in my childrne's REI brand dy packs and they fit perfectly.

I'm using mine with an off brand hydration pack that I salvaged from my son when the reservoir gave out. I think it would work in any pack with the basic configuration for a reservoir.

Yes. The 100 oz reservoir fits well in my Kelty Redstart day pack as we as my larger packs. The pack just has to have an opening for the line. Most do.
