I think this pack might be a little too heavy for running. Maybe if you didn't fill the bladder up all the way, it would be okay.

Yup! I love it! Plenty of space for gels, keys, money, phone, etc, without being too bulky. It does make the backs of your shirts get a bit pilly from the friction, but to me, that's a small price not to have to wear a belt on a long run.

It can be sinched down quite tightly, however it holds quite a bit of water. I use for hiking. Have not run in it.

What makes this "for women"?

It is also specifically made for women because the shoulder straps that go across the chest area are curved. This way the straps don't go over the breasts, therefore preventing rubbing/chaffing. The straps stay to the outsiide of the breasts, MUCH more comfy then the men's cut.

I think the size. It fits me perfectly, but I cannot imagine my husband trying to wear it.

I have had several Camelbaks, the first one my husband purchased for me and it was not a women's model. I realized after a bit that I needed the women's version b/c it was too long and instead of hitting in the small of my back, it went a couple inchees past. I am 5'4", average torso length. If you are maybe 5'8" or have a very long torso, then men's model may be fine. I purchased a new women's model and I will only purchase female specific ones in the future as it hits in the right spot and is much more comfortable. Hope that helps!

Hi! I believe primarily due to its size. I'm a small woman who usually has to get a women's specific pack - it fits me well, isn't too broad across the shoulders, and fits well into the small of my back. It's also quite adjustable. Other than that, I assume color.
