Shopper does this product have shock absorbency?
DAVID R These poles are not the shock absorbing model. If it helps, I think they are excellent poles. We have 5 sets of them at our house.
APRIL L If you mean are there spring shock absorbers in the poles, the answer is no. I have been using these on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia and they are excellent so far.
GUSTAVO S No, this pole does not have shock absorbency. You can adjust it to the comfortable height and the pole stay firm in this position. In my opinion you do not need the shock absorbency for tracking because under certain circumstances it could be feel you unsafe. You need every time a firm support for different terrain types (rock, sand, hills, descending, irregulars, etc)
WILLIAM M No there is no shock absorbency. I had shock absorbency with my previous pair of Mountain Smith poles but I like the Black Diamond a lot more.
MARC M No, the Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork Poles do not have shock absorbency.
DAVID B No, they do not, but we like every other aspect of the poles.
CLAIRE M No. But the cork handles provide *some* cushioning.
ALAN K Hi,
No, these Black Diamond poles do not have shock absorbers and they are not needed if Nordic Walking is done properly. The many videos on You Tube are very helpful in learning the proper use of walking poles. Just be patient until you feel comfortable.
I'm very pleased with the Black Diamond poles and would purchase them again and I'm 75 years old.
margaret d No, it does not have that built in. There is no spring action. However, I really like the poles because of the cork grip and that the grip is tilted a bit. It makes it easier on the wrist and easier walking. I don't feel you need the shock absorbency.
CHRIS B No, they do not have shock absorbers. I used them for five days in the Grand Canyon and I wasn't overly bothered by the minimal amount of vibration from when the tip would contact the ground. Overall, I was very, very pleased to have the poles along for the trip.
CHRIS H They do not have shock absorption, however I just used these poles a few weekends ago and they worked really well for me. They're lightweight and the ergo handles made it much easier in my opinion to hike up hills.
BRENT B No, they don't have shock absorbency. They are really nice, high quality trekking poles. They work alot better than the last pair (not a black diamond brand) I had that did have the shock absorber.
ARTHUR F No. Excellent poles none the less.
