These poles perform better than expected. No worry about getting anything to tight or to loose, simply flick the lever. I weigh 175 and in some situations put a lot of weight on them. They stood up to everything I asked of them.

This is a very strong trekking pole and with a very comfortable grip. Would highly recommend.

I liked the poles, but the binary quick locks were not solid (they had a little "play" in them), and this made the poles noisy and maybe not as stable. However, they were quick and easy to adjust. If you don't mind a little more noise and slop then you may like them, but it was not acceptable to me. I replaced them with the Black Diamond Contour Elliptic Carbon poles, which are pricy but seem pretty good. I also tried a set of Komperdell titanals with 16/14/12 mm round shafts, and the Contour Elliptical Carbons are definitely stiffer and stronger. This was important to me because I use the poles fully extended and they loose a lot of stiffness at full extension. I believe the Carbon Ellipticals are a bit stiffer than the Spire Ellipticals, but I didn't have them at the same time so I couldn't compare directly like I did to the Komperdells.
