I bought this for trad climbing, not aid, so can't really speak to that aspect of it. I was looking for something that would handle gear better than a sport-oriented harness. The padding is great and the harness is surprisingly light for its size. The only drawbacks I see are that the side gear loops are small--it's advertised as having a ton of gear loops, but the actual loop real estate isn't a whole lot more than a "normal harness". PETER M  What is the country of origin of this harness?
DIANA K  All of the harnesses that are made by Black Diamond are imported from the Philippines.
Shopper  is their a life support loop in back?
DAN G  yes there is a life suport loop on the back
BRETT D  There is a loop on the back, but per the instructions that came with it it is only a gear support loop, not for personal weight support. It's a little tricky reading the universal picture diagram do's and don'ts but you can download an instruction sheet from the Black Diamond site for this harness.

JOSH M  I believe that loop in back in intended for a tag line rope. I do not believe it is rated for a fall.
AVERY B  There is a rear loop on the harness, black diamonds website says it is rated at 12 kN. From my experience to be life supporting equipment must be rated at at least 22 kN (which converts to 5,000 lbs). So from that I would say no it is not life supporting. I do use it as my anchor attachment point while I am belaying on the ground but I wouldn't use it as a belay loop. Hope that helps.
MARIA K  a loop you see on the back that is a haul loop, not life support or belay or something, i've seen somewhere that it cannot hold more then 50kilos. you can hang there a bigwall trunk but never clip your rope.
JOSHUA T  'Life support loop'? I've never heard the term. It has a 12kn rated haul loop in the back.
