Its seems a little big but I love the fact that I can put my snowshoes in it with plenty of room to spare and "roll down" the bag to cllip it shut. I have a waterproof (dry bag) one a little similar that I have for SUP board. The price was the best part. I needed 2 and the price on these allowed me to get both, whereas other retailers were charging twice the price.

Does the bag have an attachment area for poles?

Yes, two Velcro straps on the side easily attach trekking poles.

The bag I bought does have two velcro straps to hold poles. This bag looks different than the bag I bought back in 2010 so I can't say for sure this has them.

No it does not. You can place the poles in the bag but the ends will stick out.
