Comments about Sierra Designs Sierra Designs Bedouin 4 Tent:
I bought this tent a couple years ago to take steelhead fishing and camping in and around Idaho, Washington, Montana, and Oregon. I have had plenty of other tents in my life and Sierra Designs have always been the best. I wanted a tent that my wife could stand up in and change clothes, but had enough beef to stand up to wind an snow. We found it in the Bedouin. We have two large cots, dog beds, gear, and a large heater for those frigid nights on the Salmon River and we still have room to cook (not recomended by the manufacturer) eat and sleep during the worst storms. Last winter we spent a week in this tent during a never ending snow storm, we had to knock the snow off from time to time but this tent was BOMB_PROOF. I cant say enough about how it performed.
If a heavy duty camping tent is what you are looking for, then this is it.

I tend to like minimal equipment for camping to help out with ease of setup and transport, but when camping with companions of the opposite sex my camping style and equipment tends to expand. Hence, the purchasing of the Bedouin 4. The tent I like, but would have been happier with something smaller and lighter.
The tent is heavy. Compared to some of the Kelty 4 person tents, the Sierra Designs weighs twice as much. This is partly due to about 25 square feet of additional footprint, and an additional 8" or so of head height compared to the Kelty Grand Mesa 4 (Discontinued).
The poles are nice and a little beefier, thus also adding weight. The rain fly is great. It has two vestibules and goes all the way to the ground, which all rain flys should.
The tent also has lots of storage, some useful and some gimicky. ie: clotheslines and cup holders. But if you want that sort of thing then this tent would be great.
I would reccomend this tent for basic car camping, but not backpacking. Quality and fit and finish is great, but that weight issue can be a problem.
