I use this tent for casual (and Occasional) camping. It was fairly easy to set up, despite the directions only because if you have a newer type tent already, they all set up basically the same way. The first night we had heavy rain and the tent withstood it no problem. We also had some moderate wind and the tent laughed at that, minus additional tie down.
