Comments about Eureka Eureka Wild Basin 0F Synthetic Sleeping Bag - Regular Size:
So far this sleeping bag seems to be warm enough down to at least 20 deg., but we haven't tested it long term yet or in temps. below that. With any bag add at least 10-15 degrees to the rating to get its true comfort level. It packs well, but will weigh more than a down bag or a bag with a higher temp. rating, but that is to be expected. On the plus side over down bags: it will keep you warm even when damp, not something a down bag can ever do. When my life might be at stake, I will pick synthetic insulation over down any day in any product.
The bag is relatively light and compresses well for a 0 deg. synth. bag and can be used in Fall/light winter backpacking as long as you are not a hard-core minimalist and relatively physically fit. It might add 2-3 pounds to what you would normally carry in warmer temperatures.
