I travel frequently for business and need something convenient enough to carry my laptop, personal items, snacks and files. On my last trip to Israel this was perfect...went from carry on to briefcase to tourist backpack. Only con is that it is LARGE even thought I bought it so I could fit plenty of stuff its not my favorite for everyday use. Color is great unique style.

This is the best backpack that I have bought! Does everything I need, plus a little more! There are tons of pockets for storage, plenty of room in the main pockets. I am a student so it is great for packing around those larger books and still feeling comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a great all around backpack.

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

I bought this bag for both work and travel. I wanted something large enough for my laptop, and also something with a lot of compartments. It has great padding. Its a good size for my needs, but its very long and might not be good for shorter people. It tends to be a little stiff, but it feels like its good quality. Looked just like the picture!

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

Good separate compartment for laptop and its various cords and cables. Nice and large main compartment, fits two textbooks with 3 to 4 notebooks. Tons of organizational pockets, easily to organize stuff I need for school. Only thing I found that isn't so great is the front flap doesn't really cover all the way, so unless you have the front pocket fully loaded, water can get in when it pours. Other than that, it has been an awesome and comfortable pack.

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

great backpack. worth the money. no regrets in purchase.

cons: small gripe. no zipcords on the water bottle pockets. im afraid in time the elastic will wear out and water bottle won't be as secure.

pros: the padding and materials make the loads lighter. i put the same amount of items in my old swiss army bag as in the surge. the surge felt lighter. also the triple protection pocket for the laptop is great. and the bottom pocket for powercords is a great idea.

its the most expensive backpack i ever owned but im totally satisfied with the product.

Really nice pack. I use it daily for work and transporting my Toshiba Tecra Laptop. It is a large computer and fits reasonably well. I also carry a portfoilio, day planner, and numerous file folders. I am on the road constantly and dont have any concerns about the bag rolling around in the truck. Also looks good for taking to customer locations. I highly recommend

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

I needed something that would be good for travel and my work commute, with comfortable straps, lots of little pockets to organize things and the ability to hold and protect my 17" lap top-this is the only bag I found to do all of that perfectly. There are actually 5 sections: Front organizer with little pockets and access from the front zippers, secondary organizer with little pockets and more room, main compartment that is vastly adjustable, separate well padded laptop compartment closest to your back (last 3 zipper from top) and then a zipper for a small area on the bottom to hold your power cord. The laptop compartment is well padded on all sides, including the bottom. The adjustable straps on the side and bottom compact the main compartment to nearly flat when necessary, but I could fit at least 6" of books in there if needed. There is a SMALL stretchy pocket on the shoulder strap for wee-little phones or i-pods-but there are plenty of areas inside for these items too-just not easy access on the run. 2 side pockets for water bottles manage to hold umbrellas-pretty standard. The cherry stain color is mainly a bright orange, brighter than I had hoped-but I wanted color.

I spent a week in Japan on business. My computer fit great and I was able to pack any other files or valubles. This worked well for day travel and along with my carry on luggage I was sufficiently packed for the week. Comfortable staps and well balanced. A little big under the seat in front of you on the plane, but it fits.

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

I'm a college student and plan to use this to carry my 15" macbook pro around as well as books, etc. I really like the versatility this bag offers, with both the protection needed to carry a laptop and the durability to use as a daypack for hiking and such. My laptop fits in the compartment pretty securely with plenty of space left over in the many other pockets. Lots of pockets are leftover for miscellaneous gear, and the build quality is great (as one would expect of The North Face products). My only gripe is the lack of dedicated places for clips on the outside; I like to clip water bottles or shoes on the outside of my bag, and there aren't many spaces for it. But if you're willing to improvise, there are plenty of places on the pack that could suit such a purpose. Overall great bag.

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

I'm a college student who needed a backpack that was versatile enough for both carrying a laptop around campus and also hiking mountains and waterfalls with my buddies on the weekend. This design is cool and practical and fills every need I have.

My favorite feature is the very front pocket, which I can access by simply unbuckling the clip that holds down the front flap. This is where I can easily access and deposit all the small things that I have on hand.

The only drawbacks to this backpack are #1: It's sort of stiff, which makes it hard for me to carry it around campus for long periods of time without using the super nerdy front straps and #2 It's a little bit on the large side for females. Other than those minor things though, I would recommend this product to anyone!

I bought this for my friend who is going to spend eight months traveling around Southeast Asia. He wanted a backpack for his laptop, but that also was comfortable, had pockets for his stuff, a place to hold water, etc. He needed it to be comfortable. After researching online like crazy, the reviews pointed me to this pack. It lives up to the hype - GREAT product. It's going to be just perfect for his needs. PLUS it's durable... it'll hold up to the travels!!

Comments about North Face The North Face Surge Daypack:

I have been using this pack for a month now. I wanted a backpack I could use on a one day hike, but also take it to class. I highly recommend this if you own a Mac. I have a 15" Macbook Pro with a hard shell case surrounding it and a soft shell case I zip it into. It fits perfectly into this pack.

The only thing I could tell you to be careful about is if you are big around the stomach area, you may not be able to lock in the bottom strap. I am a fit guy (5'9,165lbs) and I have it stretched to the limit. Other than that this has by far been the best pack I have ever owned.

My friends always say once you go North Face you never go back... now I know why.

This backpack is perfect for the student on the go! It holds everything I need with plenty of space for my laptop, books, supplies, and even my lunch. I was surprised at how the backpack didn't seem to add additional weight to my daily load, and it actually makes carrying all that stuff more comfortable thanks to the extra padding and support it offers. I love all the little pockets, it has a place for everything including the two deep water bottle pouches on the sides. I highly recommend this backpack to any student, not only is it functional, but it looks cool, too!
