My eighth grader has to carry three textbooks home a night plus several notebooks. Her backpack is heavy but comfortable and everything gets in there, including her lunch bag. Add to that, all her friends think the lime green color is very cool!

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

Compared to my old backpack, this one is great! I'm currently a college student who carries a laptop, 2-4 textbooks, notebooks and folder almost everyday. Instantly I noticed a difference. It feels so much lighter and is less bulky so it doesn't look like I'm carrying all those books. The only con I have is that it is a very tight fit for my laptop. My laptop is an abnormal 16in. I figured with the dimension of the backpack that it would fit..and it does. It is just a tight fit. Overall I would recommend this backpack to anyone.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

Product is absolutely fantastic. I've owned a 1st gen Recon for the last 7 years. The Recon is honestly the best bag out there. I will never buy another brand/model. This new Recon is a total upgrade. The straps feel great, and are so comfortable. I wish I could wear it 24/7. It is constructed very well, looks rugged, and will outlast my first recon no doubt. I currently use it to commute to work on my motorcycle, but I also do a lot of hiking. This could very well double as a daypack, putting a camlebak in the laptop compartment. As a former AT thru-hiker, I know packs, and the Recon is a winner- definitely recommend it!

I use this backpack daily for school. It fits my laptop, daily average it holds for me comfortably thirty to forty lbs. I love all the compartments. The color is my favorite. It isn't bulky. I would have liked a bigger waist belt and buckle. I would have liked a deeper mesh water bottle holder on each side. Other than that I LOVE this backpack.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

I bought this pack (which replaced my tote) to hold my dance shoes and other necessities (towel, spare dance shirt, water bottles, etc) when I want to hit the dance floor (ballroom, bar or class). Carries most everything with room for more and keeps it dry from rain or snow. The large mesh pocket would be useful for drying out wet items while on the go or serve as another expansion pocket. Pack is good for side trips when I travel. Because I like to wear this with one shoulder strap on, wish the inside had a rubber grip where it connects to the top of my shoulder since it slips off too easily. C'mon, half my trips are between the car and the house with other things to carry. Hope to find something to adapt with. Love the color choices. I'll miss tossing things into the tote but things are more secure and organized in the pack.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

Overall, the Recon is a good pack. I am a bicycle commuter so I usually need to carry a decent load (change of clothes, notebook, books, waterbottles, thermos, etc.) Although I'm not so much a fan of the bulky look of the pack when it's loaded, it fits a large amount very well. It works well for loading groceries also. One aspect I don't like too much is the bulky look of it. Adjustable straps help keep the pack in place while I'm riding and the reflective aspects help with night riding. Two things I dislike about the pack are the side water bottle pockets (they are a little shallow) and the laptop sleeve (it often snags on my laptop's battery and is a little annoying trying to get it in). These are only minor setbacks though. I have a 15.4" laptop. Anything larger probably would not fit. The straps and back are decently padded to ease heavier loads.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

I did some serious consideration before deciding to buy this backpack. I am a highschool student who goes through about one backpack a year because of the book load that I carry everyday. The great thing about this backpack is that it is smaller, which will force me to carry less. Just like most North Face products this seems to be living up to its name so far. The only real negative that this backpack has is that there is to much excess strap for the waist, chest, and shoulder straps. I have always experienced this with nearly all backpacks however. I wish that they would incorporate an extra loop to wrap up the excess strap with because it is somewhat annoying having all of that stuff hanging down. I took this backpack on mountain biking trip last week and it worked great. When you aren't carrying much (raincoat in bungee pocket, Nalgene, etc) the backpack can be tightened up to fit very snuggly.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

I bought this pack for a sailing trip around Newfoundland. It greatly increased my carry on capacity and allowed me to stow my laptop easily. I like the fact that it can hold a hydration bladder for day hikes/mountain biking in Acadia while having the room for rain gear and food. The price was the best I saw anywhere.

The only con is that it is difficult to get the laptop out at airport security when the pack is fully loaded.

The stretch pockets on the straps are a minor touch but great to have.
