Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

I did some serious consideration before deciding to buy this backpack. I am a highschool student who goes through about one backpack a year because of the book load that I carry everyday. The great thing about this backpack is that it is smaller, which will force me to carry less. Just like most North Face products this seems to be living up to its name so far. The only real negative that this backpack has is that there is to much excess strap for the waist, chest, and shoulder straps. I have always experienced this with nearly all backpacks however. I wish that they would incorporate an extra loop to wrap up the excess strap with because it is somewhat annoying having all of that stuff hanging down. I took this backpack on mountain biking trip last week and it worked great. When you aren't carrying much (raincoat in bungee pocket, Nalgene, etc) the backpack can be tightened up to fit very snuggly.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

I bought this pack for a sailing trip around Newfoundland. It greatly increased my carry on capacity and allowed me to stow my laptop easily. I like the fact that it can hold a hydration bladder for day hikes/mountain biking in Acadia while having the room for rain gear and food. The price was the best I saw anywhere.

The only con is that it is difficult to get the laptop out at airport security when the pack is fully loaded.

My husband picked out this bag and loves it for the office. Easy and comfortable, holds both a laptop and a water bottle. We call it his "man purse" because now he can carry all our items when we go to outdoor events! Sunny Sports had an excellent value and service. Will buy from them again!

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

The stretch pockets on the straps are a minor touch but great to have. I use a birdJam iPod for birding and having that left strap stretch pocket so handy protects the equipment and greatly reduces my response time. The set of straps on the bottom lets me have a collapsing stool easy to get to. Great pack!

This product is very versatile. I use it for my books and laptop during school, and my hiking gear on the weekends. Whether I am going to the library or going hiking, it's THE bag to use. It is also great to travel with. My laptop is a bit small so I still use a sleeve with it before I put it in this bag.

Comments about North Face The North Face Recon Daypack:

Very comfortable with loads up to 25-30 pounds. Versatile, it can be used to haul a laptop one day and a hydration bladder the next. Main pocket does not open quite wide enough, it can make getting some bigger objects in a hassle.

Zipper is a little bit harder to use, but it perfectly stops the rain percolate inside the backpack.
