Comments about North Face The North Face Longhaul 21 Wheeled Travel Pack:
This is a cool piece of luggage. I have had the Longhaul 26 for several years and can't praise it enough. I have always used the 26 as a carry-on, but airlines have recently become more literal about carry-on size restrictions; the last flight I was charged for my bag. So, I decided to try the Longhaul 21. It looked small, but I knew the North Face quality would be top notch. When I received the bag, I decided to test its capacity. The handle does protrude into the main compartment, but this provides an oppurtunity to pack socks between the bars and level the bottom. I started with three pairs of wool socks and three pairs of liner socks. Next came two folded pairs of Levis 501s. Next came four folded T-shirts. I didn't want to fold any shirts for the test, so I put in three full-sized folded cotton bath towels (probably equivalent to eight long sleeved shirts). I then added a North Face Apex Bionic jacket and 5 pairs of underwear. I cinched the internal compression straps. The bottom of the LH21 is a bit deeper than the top, allowing room for additional items. I added my Dopp kit to the bottom, and then zipped the compartment shut. I then cinched the external compression straps. The LH21 was amazingly compact when fully loaded. I did not add any extra shoes, but with one less towel (three shirts) I could have fit a pair of trail or street shoes. The capacity of the LH21 is much larger than it looks, and the functionality and toughness are what you would expect from the North Face - First Rate.

Comments about North Face The North Face Longhaul 21 Wheeled Travel Pack:
Pack recently purchased for air travel. Fit great in overhead bin. Only drawback was no large exterior pocket for documents. Very pleased w performance in airport and transfers.
Comments about North Face The North Face Longhaul 21 Wheeled Travel Pack:
I had a rolling backpack that worked great for 1-2 week trips, but tore open. This backpack is super-sturdy and I can pack for 1-2 week in it (although I pack light). It looks great and is easy to access. I like the two pockets on the front, and keep my little bag of liquids for air travel in one of them. I wish the handle didn't take up quite as much space inside the bag as it does, but all in all this is an excellent rolling backpack to use for an airline carryon.
