THIS PACK IS AN INCREDIBLE DEAL. I HAVE USED IT THE PAST TWO WEEKENDS, WITH 30+ POUNDS, ON HIKES FROM 8-14MILES, AND IT IS PLENTY COMFORTABLE FOR THAT.

Comments about Jansport Jansport Big Bear 82 Internal Backpack - 2008 Model:

Lots of room in the interior but side straps can't accommodate anything larger than a yoga mat, and the lid is non-adjustable in the back so if the pack is stuffed full you can't fit anything under that either. I took a firefighting pack test with this pack (45 lbs) and the fitting straps needed constant adjustment (always slipping). Also the hip pad is so wide it sits from hips to ribs (and makes both sore). You're better off spending a little more on a better pack.

Comments about Jansport Jansport Big Bear 82 Internal Backpack - 2008 Model:

High capacity and lightweight with a good price from sunnysports. I've only used it on 1 trip so far and carried probably 40+ pounds. I thought it wasn't as comfortable as it could be, but that's probably only because I had too much weight.

Comments about Jansport Jansport Big Bear 82 Internal Backpack - 2008 Model:

I use this for travel to many states and countries.
The benefits are:
The drawstring closures at the top with a cover to prevent water entry. The two pockets, the outside and the main. Both have a tremendous amount of room to store at least a weeks plus of clothing, medical, gear and other items your trip may require. With that in the pack there is left over room to even store some things you may not need on your adventure. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and dont pull when the pack has weight in it. If you just want to carry it instead of packing it, there is a handle at the top. do not be decieved, it can carry its weight.

Now the negitives.
The pack is adjustable however, difficult to move on the slide. There is only one opening into the pack and that is through the top. This makes locating stored items difficlut unless they are packed in some order. The waist strap when not needed can be tightened, however even at the tightsest setting it still bulks out and hits the lower back.

Overall it suits the needs required for any adventure you may desire. I have trips planned to the far east, Africa and Australia. These are rugged areas with a demand for a item. that can take the elements and carry what is needed

I love these Jansport Packs. This is my second one. My first one was about 10 years old before it gave me problems. I remembered the guarantee and sent it back to them for repairs. They sent me a new one after 10 years!!! It's just a little heavier than others but I have a bad back and I am fine with it. I love all the room you have to load. All my equipment is ultralight so overall it is still a light pack loaded. Just the no hassle guarantee sells the pack!

Comments about Jansport Jansport Big Bear 82 Internal Backpack - 2008 Model:

I used the pack for a two night outing and put everything inside. It was comfortable and adjustable for me at 6'2". Kept most things dry in light rain without a cover. I would like it to have an internal divider between top and bottom sections. I really like it and plan to keep it for a long time. This is my first pack.
