I looked all over for many different packs and styles. I specifically wanted a backpack that was light, could carry my Camelback water bladder, had a spot for pens etc for when I travel on business, had plenty of pockets that I could fit just about anything in it from clothes to laptops etc, and was comfortable. Even better this went one step further hiding the belt straps when not in use. I don't use them much so for travelling and every day use I can stow these away and just yank them out when I need it...great design there! The shoulder straps are very comfortable with a soft gel like padding and there are also 2 straps on the side that allows you to cinch in the bag after filling it to keep things tight....Now I just have to toss my old LL Bean bag.
And oh year, this bag elsewhere was twice as much as these guys. Cheapest anywhere I have found online!

Great backpack at a great price. My son needed a large backpack that can handle all his books. This one seems to fit the bill. School starts in a couple weeks and he'll be ready to carry everything, and then some. After he has used a while it may actually earn 5 stars, but as we haven't really tested I only gave it four stars.

I love this JanSport. I've always had them last a long time for me, so I bought another and at this price, it is amazing! Feels incredibly comfortable when heavily loaded or light. The storage is huge, but it is a little hard getting some of the smaller notebooks and stuff out of it at times.
And all the storage is good, but since I've just got this bag, I sometimes get lost on where I put what.
Only thing to worry about is if it snags a thorn or something, as that will likely cause a little damage to some of the smoother nylon on it. Also, sometimes the flags that cover the zippers get in the way and get snagged on the zippers. But the zippers are amazingly robust, so no issue there.
But I certainly love it. I almost want to buy another just to keep around for 10 years from now when this one fails.
