This pack worked just as I hoped! I traveled through Europe for 16 days - on planes, trains, cars and foot. The fact that it can be converted into a back pack at any time is great! But I also love that when I don't need it to be a back pack, I can use it as an easy rolling case. It's the best of both worlds, in my opinion. I wouldn't use it for a 'hiking' trip because it's not the most comfortable to use as a back pack for an extended period of time. But, if you plan to city hike, it's perfect!
