We recently had the pleasure of traveling to Prague, Czech Republic with side trips to Salzburg, Austria and Munich, Germany. We used trains and the metro (subway) to travel, and this High Sierra luggage worked great!
Having your carry-on bag with backpack straps is the way to go. You can wear your small lightweight bag while you roll around the larger luggage. This way we could easily get our luggage around the train and metro stations, and walk a couple of kilometers to the hotel too.
This carry-on bag worked so well that I bought two more for my wife and daughter for Christmas. Very well made products - highly recommended. :)
