Tough shell, versatile for carrying snowshoes or skis, ice axe, snow shovel, compact and tough, ideal for bushwhacking in thick underbrush without getting caught. Very water proof. Big enough to hold a small sleeping bag, pad, parka and other emergency gear. Bought one for my wife and a friend also bought one after seeing and trying mine. Later he observed the pack was on the Backpacker best equipment list.
