I used this bag for a 12-mile hike over rollers all day, and it was very comfy. My lower back usually gets really sore with backpacks, but this felt fine. I didn't take it off all day! Then we climbed a 14er. I had all the gear I needed: Columbia coat, waterproof shell, hat, gloves, food, rope, water (the 3 liters in the bag plus 3 extra liters I put in the side bottle pockets). The hip straps are great, it takes the weight off my lower back.

This one is for my wife, who is more comfort driven than a dedicated hiker. We haven't used it extensively yet, and the trip is in two weeks: hiking in the islands in Greece. Yet the initial fit was perfect. The shorter cut of the harness section really fits the female torso better than the usual unisex models. Her comment:" The color should hide the dirt well"

I can't wait to use it. Excellent price [...] I am very impressed with the amount of pockets and the reservoir storage. Pockets for sunglasses/Ipod; pens, side pockets for extra water bottles or other, outside pocket for easy access. Many pockets have zippers and flaps. The fit is so much better than the "unisex".
