Comfortable, small but-effective, light day pack that does not weigh much. Because it is not stiff and doesn't take up much space itself, it can be used as a stuff bag or crammed into luggage as a knock-around bag in town when you arrive, etc. The Magnum has a water pouch and outlet, two side stretch pockets, an inner pocket, and the outer stretch cord comes in handy for cinching down the pack when it is not full or for lashing a rain shell to it (etc.). It rides up fairly high on the back because Black Diamond focuses on climbing and technical gear. I have two of them: one for the car (emergencies) and one for regular use.

I purchased this pack with the intention of using it for my summit pack, meaning I would be able to pack this pack inside my bigger pack. It worked out perfectly, I can put my 100oz bladder and my raingear and food inside of this pack without a problem. I also found that this pack makes a great everyday pack, not to big and not to small.
Perfect size when traveling lite.

This is a great travel pack because it is small enough to fit in my luggage. It's versatile enough for day use, travel, and even short day hikes. It is kind of flimsy, so it doesn't hold its shape at all. I'm thinking of cutting a piece of closed cell foam and inserting it into the hydration pocket. I like the gray color; it's easy to find things in. I also have the all black version, and I can't see into it very well.

This is a great travel and around town pack. It is small enough to squeeze into your luggage. The back padding is minimal, so the pack structure is a little flimsy. It's also OK for short day hikes. To be perfect, I would have liked an outside flat pocket for maps, tickets, travel info.
