Comments about Outdoor Research Outdoor Research Alti Mitts for Men:
I got these b/c my Burton gloves had worn out and while they were good, I needed to use hand warmers with them on colder days (upstate NY skiing). So far I have only used on dry days, and in temps 5-20 degrees F and plenty of wind. They are definitely warmer than the Burtons; with no hand warmers and w/o the liner mitts, these keep my hands warm. If I remove my hands from the gloves (required for any dexterity at all), my hands warm pretty quickly when re-inserted.
I imagine with the liners, I would never need any other heat assistance. They do run a tad big; I usually wear large in gloves, and I feel like I could have done Medium in these, but can't say for sure.
Overall, VERY pleased. They are windproof, and I will assume waterproof. Hopefully the inside fingers/palms will hold up to the inevitable abuse from snowboarding...particularly the uphill hand (my right), which often scraps along the snow during hard right hand turns.

Comments about Outdoor Research Outdoor Research Alti Mitts for Men:
I purchased the Alti mitts because about 8 pair of skiing gloves I previously purchased did not keep my fingers warm on very cold days: and this includes a pair of heated gloves. These mittens indeed do keep my fingers warm in very cold weather. They are somewhat too bulky for skiing, but that is a trade-off I am willing to make to have warm fingers. I also like the fact that the cuffs are long enough to never expose my wrists to the elements.

Comments about Outdoor Research Outdoor Research Alti Mitts for Men:
Used hiking White Mountains in NH. Outer mitts over glove liners makes a nice combination for hiking. I take hands out of mitts to take photos or adjust equipment but they warm back up when I put the outer mitts back on. I have used both inner and outer mitts over glove liners in extreme cold/wind but almost too much.
Also nice to have waterproof/Goretex outer mitt for when you are in mixed conditions.
