These pants served me well backpacking through South America and Asia. The pockets held enough to walk the city without a bag or looking like a pack mule. They also held up on the trail, light weight, breathed well and repelled light rain.
The cons:
The hip pockets and the cargo pockets overlap one another. This makes the pants bulky if you put things in both pockets.
The elastic waistband ain't exactly runway couture.
