I used the poles for 16 days of trekking in Nepal. I have a problem knee joint and the poles helped not only with stability but allowed me to ease my weight down on steep stone stairs. The cam locks were quick and sure. I adjusted the length quite a bit, longer for downhill, shorter for up. The compact model is 2-3 inches shorter collapsed and fits in more luggage types. A great product. I wouldn't hike without them.
They do not have shock absorbtion, but I have used poles with this feature and I personally do not like the squishy feel and prefer a stiff pole.

I purchased these for an Xmas gift. No idea how well they're liked/used, but they weigh absolutely ziltch and seem very easy to use and quite steady.
