These shoes are excellent on packed trails and perform well on the steep hills of the local trail systems. However, I sink deeply if I go off trail. They are useless for blazing trails in fresh snow.
Since I have fairly small feet, I find it easier to pull the back strap if I have the buckles on the inside rather than the outside as the instructions say.
