The SL6 is brighter than lights twice its length! The unique side-by-side battery configuration makes the 6 cell light only as long as a 3 cell light. Then bright, narrow penetrating beam of the SL6 makes it ideal for scanning the reef for marine life hiding under ledges. It can be uses as a main light for night diving or as the perfect backup light. Fits neatly in your BCD pocket, is equipped with a solid aluminum reflector, has a molded rubber bezel cover that reduces glare and protects the light. The SL6 is made from tough non-corroding ABS and polycarbonate plastic.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Sunlight SL6 Dive Light:

If you are only going to have just one dive light, you could do a lot worse. It is a bit too large to fit easily into your BCD pocket, but it comes with it's own wrist lanyard so you can wear it or clip it onto your BCD. The beam is tighter than my Princeton Tec 600 and maybe just a bit brighter, bright enough to be a good alternative to higher priced LED dive lights. In the good old days of 3 bags up to70lbs each for everyone airline travel, it would have been an ideal dive travel light. Now a days, the slightly lighter weight of the SL4 might be a better choice for traveling to warm clear water locations. The batteries are a little tricky getting in. With practice and patients is no worse than my NiteRider dive light. I would prefer that it had a magnetic switch, although the mechanical switch seems rugged enough. The switch placement on the front of the light makes it a little awkward to use at first until you get used to it. It is bright enough to be used as a primary dive light in clear water or lower vis diving. It would probably be very adequate as a backup light for overhead environment or limited visibility diving too. If you are traveling with it, I would recommend buying a spare bulb to take with you. This light gets pretty warm out of the water. If you travel with it, pack the batteries separately so it will not turn on accidentally in your dive bag and cause a problem. You can also find a good LED replacement bulb on one of those famous (infamous?) online auction sites that is a lot brighter than the OEM bulb. Typical rugged and reliable UK quality. This light offers a very good value. If I lost this light, I would have to buy another one[...]
