Used this on a 4 day camping trip lated Dec. 2010.
Used it in a semi frozen shalow spring with lots of leef mold and silt leaving only a inch or so for pre-filter. Pluged it right up.
Dug a hole the size of coffe can. While the water settled down, I cleaned the filter. Usedd a forked stick to hold pre-filter in middle of hole and there we go.
The pump handel being on the side takes some getting use to; but it has its advantages in acword situations.

This product has been a life saver over the past 4 years. I have used this product in murky waters in northern Canada while canoeing and the water tastes great! The ceramic filter was replaced only this year and is ready to head out into the wilderness again!

I would recommend this product to everyone, it's worth it's weight in gold. Without writing a long review, I'll just say it makes a stream into a faucet, if that makes since, no more boiling or adding pills. and to the fella that says it pumps slow, well, pump faster homes...

I like this product. It works great but it is a little slow and I had to buy new bottles to fir onto it. Over all it gets a A-.
