Steve F What are the weight ranges of the 30 inch model and the 36 inch model?
CURTIS J Not sure on the advertised weight range, that should be available on the Tubbs website.. But, I weigh 185 lbs. and use the Tubbs 36 mostly in deep snow and open conditions. If the area I'm snowshoeing in is wooded, requiring more agility from me and the snowshoe, I'll use a 30 or 25 inch snowshoe depending on snow depth.
I usually have a pack on weighing anywhere from 10 to 30 lbs.
I use MSR Lighting Ascent 25's, Tubbs Mountaineer 25's, MSR Axis 30's, and the Tubbs 36's. Like them all. again depending on snow depth and area of use.
The Tubbs Mountaineer/Wilderness binding is very nice. If you're around my weight a 30 inch Tubbs snowshoe with it's excellent binding would be hard to beat.
