Shopper What size did you buy? I need a 200 cm which is about 78 inches. Also, how light is the paddle. Is it good for calm water? I am a novice and we are going out on the coves in a lake.
Thank you.
MATTHEW K basic novice paddle - should be fine for flat water paddling - not strong enough for surfing
FRANK S Myself and eleven year old daughter use it on calm water with no problems. This will be our third summer with the board and paddle, we are very pleased.
MICHAEL L We bought 2. The 80" for me(I am 6'1") and the 72" for my wife (she is 5'4") they are nice and light. We use them on calm water as we are also novices.
JEFF A I bought the 80 inch model. I understand the ideal length is about 7 inches more than you are tall. It is faiirly light. I use it primarily for flat water also. I have tried expensive carbon blades, but don't think the expense is justified for most people. Totally happy with this paddle.
DAVID K The Sevylor Maui paddle is fine for entry level Stand Up Paddling. It is both functional and cost effective.
MARK F I am 5'8" and found the 80 inch one works well for me on flat water and in the surf. My wife is 5'0" and uses a 73" one on flat water and finds that it works well. They each weigh 2lbs 0oz.
NOAH K Do an internet search - wish there had been more data when I bought mine. This product is garbage, snapped in two under very mild conditions. Furthermore, this store was useless in redressing my grievance - I could send it in at my own expense, and they would replace it, IF they deemed it a defect. The defect is the design, don't buy a collapsible paddle for SUP. In the end I paid a similar price for a much higher quality, sturdy second-hand paddle, off season from a surf shop that rents, where I could look at it in person.
ALEX J I bought the 80" paddle. It is heavy when compared to higher end paddles. The blade is made of plastic and is durable. Two piece construction makes it easy to load inside the vehicle without taking up to much room. I would recommend this paddle for a beginner or someone who will be paddling in rocky shallow areas such as a river.
