Questions about this item:
Brian V Does this watch only count calories for walking/running or will it also count calories doing other cardio like being on an eliptical without using the arm things. Also does it count calories when working out with weights? ie: by keeping track of your heartbeat?
Thanks,
Brian
HOLLY M Hi Brian,
I think it only works when running/walking as it counts the arm swings. I love mine!
MARIE B It doesnt w weights.... Only w running walking elliptical.... Anything involving legs.... I had mine for a year works rili awesome!!!
MIKE Z Brian,
This is only a guess-from reading the entire manual-that since this watch uses a pedometer/pulse measurement which estimates[counts] calories mathematically based on known consumption for height, weight, age, sex, etc. during pedometer related activity and measured intensity that NO. It will in no way be able to determine the amount of calories you burn from lifting weights by heart rate alone. My suggestion is to find something you can enter your personal parameters then workout data related to a non-pedometer(its a tiny weight that counts steps/strides based on movement) measurement based device. Maybe if you're doing lunges with very tiny handweights it could be used to some degree... Have you looked on the web for programs like this? Isn't there an app?
Brian V Thanks. After I bought one and did a little more research I realized it only did the calorie counting etc.... with an arm movement. The heart rate and calorie was the main thing I wanted. Ended up spending a couple hundred on a garmin forerunner with a heart rate strap. works well for the p90x, and home elliptical. Elliptical is way off. After 30 mins, 5 miles, heart rate was @ 130 and calories burned said 80. No way. You burn 45 calories in an hr sitting. Now I dont have to wear the watch just the heart rate monitor. 95% accuracy. I look at the watch to check my stats. It syncs to my pc, and I can go online and keep track of my stas/goals. Anyone looking to buy a tech4o for cheap? Still in the box!!
JESSICA P This watch counts calories for any activity that your body is doing. It does not have a heart rate monitor, so the calories burned are based solely on movement.
Brian V Thanks. I bought one and after research realized it was only the arm movement that did all the calculations...
Shopper How well did it work? Were you happy with it?
TERRI S I bought this for my daughter who runs, and she loves it; says it works real well.
MIKE Z Its worked great. Very happy w/ it. Its pedometer accuracy is a direct result of how well you follow the calibration instructions and calibrate it specifically to the wearer.
Z
MARIE B Yes very happy!! Still using it till now... Still tracking my steps... And achieving my steps everyday!! Helped me a lot to stay fit.
CHRISTY J I could not figure it out.......still in the box.
CHRISTY H Not happy with it at all!! It basically told me the time. I bought this when I first started running to try to stay on the cheaper side. It worked for maybe 2 months then the buttons quit working, and all it does it tell me the time now. I ended throwing this in a drawer and bought the Garmin 305 for $120 on amazon. Absolutely love it!!! Its a Gps, all you have to do is turn it on and go. It has got me through a half marathon, and several 5k's it does everything I want and more.
MARK K The watch itself works great, but the band broke and there is no way to replace it, so now it can't be used! I can't believe they would manufacture a watch with no way to fix/replace the band....
VICKIE C My 12 year old daughter uses it when running. So far it has been easy enough to use and she seems happy with it.
NANCY R No. I did not like it. It was so hard to set up, I finally called support who admitted it is difficult. I got the settings with her help, but have not been able to redo the actions since. Now I use it only as a watch. BTW, I am gadget oriented, am computer literate so I don't think the problem is with me.
JESSICA P It works great! I LOVE mine! I wear it every day to track steps, calories, and use the timer. There are a ton of features that I haven't used yet, but may be beneficial to you as well!
Raven B How does it test your heart rate....does it have a sensor on the back of the face of the watch or do you have to press your fingers to it?
RACHEL T Sorry - This was a gift given sometime ago.
L S is this watch waterproof/and /or water resistant? does it count calories burned during a workout?
