deb s is this tent free standing?
MICHAEL C It is freestanding and very roomy.
LINDA L Deb, I'm not sure I know what you mean by free standing. But the poles (which are of excellent quality) slip into grommets, at the bottom of the tent. Although I have never done it, and it is not particularly recommended (because you don't want to break or bend your poles - they're expensive) you could pick-up the entire tent and move it by grabbing the poles and lifting it. So if that is what you mean by free standing, yes it is. Additionally, just so you know, I had excellent service with my purchase at Sunny Sports, which is why I agreed to respond. I ordered my tent first. Then I ordered three Zia tents. I was entirely satisfied with my purchase and the delivery of all of them.

GAIL M T it stands freely once all the poles are in. BUT in order to prevent from flying around during wind, all tents, including this one, should be staked.
