CHARLES B yes--it has an adjustable belt loop that is a real sturdy stiff velcro hook/loop style that you can have on your belt, or on a pack strap. My old style pack did not have a water bottle place and so this was handy. I also used it on a belt also. On a 5 day rough canyon adventure, it worked good--it fits various liter or quart water bottles, and I prefer wide mouth liter bottle--The drawstring at top is quite stiff and hard to draw up real tight, but this helps retain the bottle and still fairly easy to pull out for drink and then put back in the tote one-handed. --recommend-- Charles B
