Shopper I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?
CHARLES B Fits good, excellent protection (and I need it!), does not interfere with pack, does not look ridiculous--I did not get the white one because I thought it would show dirt too quickly but it would be a little cooler, the beige is cooler in sun compared to a regular hat, very good price from Sunny Sports compared to others, fasf delivery--I like mine so much I bought a spare, and gave one as a present to a friend.
WILLIAM B It seemed like a good price for a well ventilated sun hat, and I have been mostly satisfied. The only issue is the brim is very easily moved by even the slightest breeze. I find it a battle to keep the brim positioned properly to shade my eyes in anything but calm conditions. However, otherwise the hat is excellent.
WILLIAM W Because I wanted the best sun protection and it's lightweight. I also bought the Seattle sombrero for rain, which has a nicer shape crown, but this one is cooler and has a little lighter weight. Both are good quality hats.
PAUL S I purchased this hat based on the wide brim for sun coverage and the other features of the hat, along with the great build quality. After using the hat for about a year I have noticed though, that in strong winds the front brim does push back, removing some of the sun coverage. Other than that, it's a great hat.
MARK S The brim is much wider than most other hats in this style. In fact, it's a little wider in back than in front. It does a great job of keeping the rays off your face and neck.
JAMES C My main objective was sun protection, because I've had skin issues on my face and bald head resulting from sun damage (no skin cancer but lots of basal cells that could result in skin cancer). My second objective was a hat that looks good. I wear this hat CONSTANTLY spring through fall -- for all of my many outdoor activities except, of course, bicycling and swimming.
DAVID D Hi. I bought this because it seemed like a good hat for kayaking in sunny and moderate weather. I considered the Seattle Sombrero, also by OR, but it is made for rain and seemed too heavy. I've been pretty happy with this hat. I removed the chin cord; I just keep the elastic snug around my head. The brim tends to flap upward in a strong headwind, but I temper that by bending the front edge down. It keeps its shape pretty well, too.
RICHARD W Lightweight, breaths well and has a thin wire around the brim.......keeps it from flopping around.
Overall a great sun hat....maybe the best.
JOHN S The hat is very comfortable, easy to store, water resistant, and does a good job of keeping the sun off of my head and face. It is also very cool on hot days.
FRED B Light weight. Waterproof. Use it all the time. At the beach or mowing the lawn. Still in great shape after a few years.
