JIM M I read some of the same comments and i would disagree that they run small. I wear a size 9 1/2 boot and i ordered a M. my wife wears a 6 boot and i ordered her a S. They both fit us just about right.

SUSAN S It depends on many factors -- how heavy duty your boots are, what you wear under the gaiter, the "thickness" of your leg. I am a small woman with a size 39 boot (men's 6). But it is a heavy duty ski boot and I use a men's large gaiter. You probably need to try them on.

SUSAN S I only use these for snow. I doubt that your ankles will be dry because there is not a tight seal between the gaiter and the boot. I would expect the water to come up under the gaiter. It might keep your ankles relatively dry if it was raining and it certainly does with snow. But I would wear rubber boots if I was walking in water.
