DONNA E I just got these shoes this week. The toe box is sufficiently roomy but I like that it is not lose in the heel. I've been wearing them all day the last couple of days to get them broken in and they are very comfortable. The stiff midsole provides a lot of support and I'm going to use these for both backpacking and hiking.
