DAVID C Sorry, don't know how much it weighs but it is very light. I rolled it up and put it in my day pack and it felt like nothing. I pulled it out later when the wind turned very cold on a sunny day on Mt. Whitney and it kept me warm with my fleece layers underneath.
DAVID S ounces, it's very light and packs tight and small-packed and wore mine to the top of mt. whitney, well worth the purchase!
MAURICE C Not sure of the exact weight, but it is a super lightweight shell, with no lining, and it has pit vents. The pockets are also a breathable mesh material for added air circulation. My jacket is two years old and still going strong.
JASON M The venture jacket weighs about 13 oz. It's not the lightest out there, but I have used it extensively as a backpacking jacket a number of times in the Grand Canyon without fail. HIghly recommended.
LUC B According to North Face it is 12.7 Ounces, but they do not mention size. I have a XXL, and I imagine a Small weighs less.
It is good for rain but in hard wind and driving rain I get damp in the front pocket zipper seam and shoulder seams. Again, I ride a motorcycle so we are talking sustained winds over 45 mph, up to 65+. The hood stay tucked away very well.
It breathes "OK", but I have owned better.
Again, it is a deal compared to the $300 technical jackets out there and HyVent is North Face's middle tier technology

BAO ANH N My tennis racket is 11-12 ounces and the jacket feels about the same weight. Hope that helps.
