JOHN G Yes it does close up. In fact it closes on both sides via zipper. There are three poles for the tent with tons of tie downs. Havent used it yet but have pitched it and it seems very reliable.

BRYANT P I bought the Westwind3 a few weeks ago and have used it once. the rain fly does closeat the entrance. 3 poles total easy to set up... make sure you bring a hammer for the ground stakes. we had a heavy down pour of rain the first night and 100% dry inside. this tent won't flinch in wind ether. I'm thoroughly impressed with the performance. make sure to buy the foot print waterproof base tarp to protect the floor from the ground.
