Comments about The North Face Rock 32 Tent:
The Rock 32 is an excellent product. HOW I USE IT:I go to the BWCAW annually, as well as take fishing, backpacking and car camping trips as much as I possibly can; and this tent can do it all. FEATURES:I can't emphasize enough how simple this tent is to set-up. The DAC Press-Fit poles are color coded, environmentally friendly, and extremely easy to put together and bend into place; they also feel very sturdy. The clips are durable, and loft the canopy in seconds. The canopy and fly are color coded as well, so you don't waste anytime figuring out which way the fly goes. The brow pole that holds the fly up and creates the vestibule has Ball Cap Clips that are SO much better than fabric sleeves in other tents. Once set-up, the gear attic is large enough for stuff sacks, headlamps, extra socks, hats, Camelback etc. and I would estimate can hold 7-10 lbs of gear very easily. There are four generously sized "overhead" pockets located in each corner, and they're large enough for a glasses case, contact supplies, wallet, and cell phone plus room to spare. The zippers are SILKY smooth, and make one-handed access a breeze. The vestibule zippers have one for venting, and one for access, with velcro keeping the fly material securely over the zippers (keeping your gear dry!). There are also reflective strips at the bottom that make night-time visibility easier, and a nice loop and hook system that allow you to roll up one half of the vestibule for venting or easy access.PERFORMANCE:This tent performs admirably in all situations I've used it in. It remained solid and dry through a thunderstorm with 40-50 mph wind and torrential downpours that left an inch of water between my tarp and the tent (felt like a water bed in the morning). It is warm enough for sub-freezing temperatures with a decent mummy bag, yet ventilates well enough for sound sleep on the muggiest summer nights.THE ONLY CON:This COULD be used as a three person tent, BUT you would have to forgo sleeping pads and alternate your foot-to-head orientation (as well as be literally VERY close friends). Ample room for two however.OVERALL:It might be a little heavy for an extremely minimalist backpacker, but that weight is put into high-quality materials for a well designed, sturdy tent. I HIGHLY recommend this tent.

Great Tent at a great price

About Me Casual/ Recreational
Our Boy Scout Troop has 8 Rock 32's and 4 Rock 22's and we love them. Nice and lightweight but very sturdy--great poles and the vestibules are the best. Not sure I would put three people in the Rock 32's unless you're really going minimalist, but it could be done. The only reason you'll get water in the tent is if you don't have the fly on correctly (which did happen to some of our scouts--live and learn!). We're very happy with these tents...and we also use the footprints for them as well--WAY better than using tarps under the tent.
