J H can I carry this on an airplane?
KATELYN C I have. Quite often flights allow 45 square inches in total volume for a carry-on. The dimensions may not be optimum, because the pack is longer than wide, but it is still qualifies (unless airlines begin to become very specific with requiring a certain max length, width and height opposed to just the total). I've traveled internationally with no problem so far. Just keep the straps tight so you don't get stuck on anything!!!
JED P Fully loaded, it seems a little large for carry on, but I've certainly seen people take bulkier things on a plane. As long as you don't strap anything on the outside, it should be fine.
ERNIE B Yes you can, if you remove internal support the backpack becomes more compact
KEN N I was not able to carry this bag onboard, but that was mostly due to the amount of weight it was holding.
KEITH H It's bigger than they allow as carry ons. I'm sure people have before, but expect to be stopped at some point from security on...
DUANE C I've only had mine in the trunk of my car and not on an airplane so I can't answer for sure, but it doesn't look as big as some of the suitcases that people are trying to carry on now. You can always try and if it doesn't fit in the overhead bins they can always check it for you at the door. The airlines that I've flown on check bags without the extra charge if they don't fit in the overheads instead of having to pay extra like you would when you check in for your flight.

ZEFENG N According to my google investigation (on different forum), you can use this bag as a carry on bag. I cannot guarantee it but I am planning to try it soon. Hope this helps.
LEILA L As a carry on definetly no (it is larger than regulated carry on size).
JOSHUA S Yes, I had the same concern for it as a carry-on but I've had this for two years and nobody never stopped me at airport. You'll be fine.
STEVEN W I can't answer that as I've never tried to. I do have a North Face Solaris 40 that I've carried on many times. The 45 might be OK if it's not stuffed.
PAUL M Yes! Just check the dimensions for your flight's overhead bin to make sure it'll fit. It's considered luggage, just like any other carry on. Have a good trip!
