Shopper Is it waterproof?
BETTY C I believe so, but I haven't tested it personally. My husband uses it and I'm afraid he hasn't got much rain so far...

SYLVIA D This pack is not waterproof. But a waterproof cover for a small regular backpack can be used over it to keep it dry on rainy days. This is a wonderful pack for day hiking. You barely know it's there yet it really holds a lot! Plus your back does not get sweaty as it does with a regular backpack.
RACHEL S We're not sure it looks waterproof, but we haven't gotten it wet.
PAUL H It will stand up to a good rain, but I wouldn't dunk it in a creek or the like. Holds a ton and is sturdy and well made.
RAYMOND A I don't know the technical answer, but it is made out of waterproof material, but it has two sets of zippers. One set has a flap on it, which will prevent water from seeping in if spilt on it, but the other zipper is bare. If it rains, your things inside won't get wet. If it falls into a pond or river, then you may have a problem. Hope this helps.
STEVE E It has lots of zippers and seams, so if it becomes submerged, it will leak. But the material is coated and won't leak directly through plus the zippers have flaps that keep rain off if they're in position. I've used it in the rain and actually went into water above the bottom of the pack and the insides stayed dry.
DIXON P I used the waste pack on 3 week trek in the Himalayas. We only experienced occasional light rain. In that situation it was waterproof. As far as being waterproof in a heavy, sustained downpour I don't know.
