I think for someone 6 feet and that weight the med.(especially if he wear a sweater under it) would be best. (of course it depends on whether his torso is long. and his arm length)Only a suggestion. Couldn't beat the price. MN

ALAINA P I bought the same jacket for my husband. He is 6.1 and about 163 pounds. I bought a medium and it fits great. The small was too short in the arms... He loves the jacket! :)

CAROLYN U From Carolyn: Dear shopper, The medium I purchased was for someone 5 feet 10 inches approx. 165 lbs. The medium fits him well with room for a heavy sweatshirt. I did find the following sizing: ( in inches) Medium: Neck 16 chest 39-41 waist 32-34 hip 38-40 sleeve 34 Large: Neck16 3/4 chest 42-44 waist 35-37 hip 41-43 sleeve 34 3/4 Hope this helps! JAMES P Perhaps I can help a little. My Denali runs longer than I usually expect. I am 6'3" with 35-36 inch sleeve, and the large size fits like a breeze. I am thinking the Medium will be just right for your son if he is 33 inch sleeve or so. Good luck!

MEAGHAN T I picked this jacket because of a few reasons. The color is really nice. I'm so sick of black all winter long. The top portion blocks out wind and protects against rain. The fleece part does let a little wind in, but it's perfect for my fiance, he's always so warm.

John f Hi, I just bought a black Denali jacket in August from Sunnysports and yes, it is 300 weight Polartec fleece. The weight is the thickness of the fleece which is thicker than, for example, the 200 weight Polatec fleece of The North face Khumbu fleece jacket. The shoulders back and chest of the Denali jacket though is covered by a durable nylon material that was originally meant to protect the fleece at the shoulders from wearing down from the straps of backpacks. In my experience with the Denali from the past, it is not windproof so I suggest layering with something that is made up of a wind resistant material like nylon with maybe a warm fleece or flannel lining or a second layer of a lightweight fleece material garment. STEPHEN A No! The shoulders keep relatively dry but will eventually soak. Its ok in light rain, however.

John f I actually never used my previous Denali jackets in pouring rain but in a drizzle or light rain, the water does bead off. I believe that TNF says it is water 'resistant' not 'waterproof'. I wouldn't take a chance thought and try using it as a raincoat. I have also an Apex Bionic which is really meant for water repellancy. I would wear that in the rain. I have several TNF jackets and they have all been great! Hope this helps!

SunnySports S No, the denali is zip in compatible with a shell that has a second zipper on the inside. The Khumbu and the denali only have one zipper each and they are essentially almost the same thing, they are both fleeces. Stay safe and have fun out there! Neal

SunnySports S Denali jackets are cut a little big with the expectation that a heavy fleece might be worn underneath. I would go with the same size coat you normally wear!
