Pat B Will it stand up to hauling 40 lbs of textbooks day after day?
GAIL G I have another Mountainsmith that I use when I travel and camp. I have had it for several years and is still in good shape. As far as the 40 pounds, there is no hip belt on this one (the Clear Creek) and I wouldn't want to have 40 pounds in a backpack that doesn't have a hip belt. I really don't think it is big enough to carry a computer and that many books to add up to 40 pounds. The zippers all are heavy duty zippers and should hold up. I just got mine, so it really hasn't been used that much.
LANCE A This is a very sturdy pack that I have used on numerous hikes up and down steep trails. I am sure that it will stand up to textbooks.
PAUL K probably if u can fit 40 pounds in there. i am dissapointed in the bag size and the zippers are kinda hard to operate. if theres a next size bigger i would get that one
