I have a Marmot jacket (light weight that I purchased from Costco) that is a size L. I recently ordered this Marmot from you in a large. I was shoe shopping at my local sports store and tried on a couple ski parkas and the medium fit best (they were not Marmot) if this is too large, you don't haver the blue color that I like in a medium so an exchange would not work. Can I return for full credit or exchange for something completely different? Do you know if this particular jacket runs small? or large?
Jacket does run a bit smaller than normal. I usually wear a medium in other active brands but in this marmot jacket I needed the large. I think evause it has 2 layers you need to size up especially if you want to layer underneath.
Meredeth M Thanks for that. I did receive the jacket and the large fits fine. A bit large but like you said room for more layers and I appreciate the roomy feel for snowboarding. :)
ELAINA B Hi Meredeth,
I purchased the Marmot Tamarck in September, 2012. I absolutely love this parka!! This parka surpased my expectations as far as performance. The shell alone is actually the warmest shell I have ever had, and it is completely wind, water, and snow proof. I have previously worn North Face or Columbia parkas, and I must say that the Marmot Tamarack shell is my favorite.
To answer your question regarding size: I am 5'10" tall and wear a size 10 -12. I orginally ordered the Tamarack component system in a size large. When it arrived, I tried it on and felt that it was too snug. The inner jacket was too tight, I would not have been able to wear a long sleeve shirt with it. The shell was also too small, and the sleeves too short. I exchanged for a size XL, and this fits perfectly. I ended up just purchasing the shell because I already own several light layers that I can wear with it. Other Marmot jackets are compatible with the zip in system. The only negative I can say, is that sometimes the zipper sticks and it takes me 2 or 3 tries to get it to zip. Not sure what that is all about, but otherwise, I really Love this parka! Hope this was helpful.
