Shopper Hi, what are the dimensions of the Ethereal Bivy? I have a Thermarest Luxury Map standard (20"X72") and was wondering if it will fit in the Ethereal Bivy. Has any one used it? How did it work? It looks as close to what I would call an ideal biby (enough head space to read a book, look at a map etc..
MIKE R Dude...opt for a bivy shelter. I love mine and it provides enough room to do the most basic hiking essentials -- sleep, store gear from outside, air mattress, plenty of blankets and even room to get dressed although you can't sit up. I fooled around with several "ultra-light" shelters and eventually decided a bivy shelter with rain fly would do it all from summer to winter. During the summer it provides excellent protection from insects and you can still see the stars. In the winter the rain fly helps trap your body heat. I've been very, very happy with my bivy shelter.
