I've enjoyed the set I bought a few years back to help with steep trails in Yosemite. In Banff, my brother broke his aluminum poles arresting a slide, so I ordered these for him. He loves them. The one thing I recommend is to do a quick wipe-down of the tubes before stowing them, so that grit doesn't get in between the tubes and grind on the finish. Also, get some rubber tips in addition to the carbide tips for when you're on delicate sandstone (e.g. The Wave).
