With a 6 month old baby, we were looking for a cabana tent that we could take camping or to the beach. The first time we used it we went to the beach. It was light weight considering we were hauling all kinds of stuff. My husband set it up very quickly. We were able to keep our baby out of the sun while still giving him plenty of room to move around and play. We all ended up napping inside and once our baby woke up, I was able to nurse him in complete privacy.

One concern we had was if we could still get too much sun exposure through the tent material. I had researched other tents and found some to have SPF protection. We are first time parents and worry way too much about stuff!

Overall, we were very pleased with our purchase. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Bought this to use at the beach. Umbrella's keep getting blown over in the wind.
Works well. However, since you are in the shelter you block the wind and the shelter can trap some heat which makes it a little hotter. An umbrella is open on all sides and does not have this issue.
The stakes that come with the shelter will not hold in the sand. They are thin pieces of wire. I made my own sand stakes out of an old garden shovel handle and attached a piece of parachute cord to them. They can be buried in the sand not driven into the sand. The same techniques backpackers use to hold their tents in the sand or snow.
