Shopper I would like to know how comfortable this queen size air bed is. Does it get dirty easily in the campsite. Please list pros and cons?
thanks,
Vina
MARK S Mine does not hold air, but Kelty is helpful to warranty it. The system pump system works well and puts enough pressure into the mattress. Hopefully the replacement holds air. I have read they do, so I'll know soon...
GEORGE M I found the Kelty Sleep Easy Airbed to be comfortable. We have taken this camping twice already, and it is still in good condition. I prefer to have it soft, but my wife preferred it firm. I would say that it held up well while being inflated to a firm comfort level. It also did hold up while my 2 yr old toddler walks all over it. The material was easy to clean. We just took a wet cloth to it to clean the dirty spots. Another pro was that it folds up very thin so it took up very little space while traveling. The charger did not inflate or deflate while it is being charged. It also did not stay completely flat, the two sides curved up alittle.
TINA W We slept two adults and two small children (ages 3 and 5) on the air bed and were reasonably comfortable. It slept a lot like the basic aerobed mattress. Dusted off just fine at the campsite. Inflated/deflated very easily.
LEIGH J I have found it to be very comfortable. I have only used it at home for guests, not for camping, so I can't speak to how well it copes with dirt. It doesn't have the horrid chemical smell that other airbeds we have owned have had.
JULIE V Pro: Good great in the package; easy carry; light weight.
Con: not durable.
I have used it twice for 2 nights for each time at the scout camp site, It's not get dirty. Very clean and beautiful. And i love it. Just so sad that it was out of air in the first night of my second camp. I had tried pump air but it happened again couple hours. My Kelty twin is still working great. So i really don't know if i should purchase another queen and hope for luck or try another brand more professional. Any way, the air bed is really comfortable and beautiful...if it works.
CAROL R We purchased this mattress mainly because it is lightweight, as we were flying to our destination. We loved it. It doesn't stretch out during the night like vinyl mattresses do. It seems to be durable. We make it up like a bed, so dirt is not a factor. Keep dirt out of the tent by removing shoes before entering. Easy inflate/deflate. Can only be inflated/deflated with attachment that comes with it.
MARK B I have slept on an air bed about 80-90 days in the past year. I have been through a couple of good quality air beds made of poly-vinyl chloride (PVC). This one is covered in nylon. Both are very comfortable for me if inflated to a pretty firm level.
This bed is stronger and less prone to tears due to cold temperatures or over inflation. The nylon makes more noise than the PVC but if you leave it inflated (or try to inflate it when it is cold) it doesn?t stretch and then tear like a PVC bed. Also there is no fleeced material on this bed so you can clean it much easier.
I weigh 280 pounds and sleep on an airbed for weeks at a time. That?s pretty rough treatment for a bed that is made for occasional use. Both types of beds are vulnerable to punctures. Both can be cold when the temp drops. (I use two wool blankets under the fitted sheet when it?s cold.) PVC is quieter and is a little more comfortable because it feels a bit softer but the nylon on this bed makes it more durable and easier to clean. One other thing - the valve and pump system on this bed are different but very reliable. I hope that this helps. Mark
BRIAN G I've had this airbed for almost a year. It's been used while tent camping as well as for an extra bed for guests in the house. It is very comfortable. Cleanup from camping is very easy. The material of the bed is not something that things stick to easily, so there is nothing to clean-up. The weight and size of this when deflated is awesome. It's easy to take for car camping and takes up very little space considering it's a queen size bed.
So far no issues. I'd recommend it.
