Shopper Which size cover do I need for the Redwing 50 S/M? Can I get by with the regular? The large looks huge. Thanks!
PHILLIP H Yes, I have a 50 and a regular cover and it fits
JIM C I have the large cover, and it works great on my Kelty Yukon 3000 external fame pack.
KRISTI H Get the large if you have anything outside of the pack. Your sleeping bag or tent .
JOSH A Stick with the regular. The XL is for expedition packs- 70L+ Enjoy!
MARCUS R With the 3100 you surely need the largest cover.
MARCUS R The regular should fit fine. I have a Regular for my Kelty 3000cu full size internal frame back which I should have gotten the large. But with your back size, the cover might be a little large, but you should be packing all your gear in airtight and watertight sealable bags....like the sea to summit bags. I pack on the Appalachian Trail and really use the cover at night to cover the pack and hang it to a tree or on a bear line. The Regular cover will give you extra room which is able to be tied up at the bottom. Better more room than less. If go to small, it could be tough to really have your pack contained and totally dry overnight.
EDDIE H The regular should suffice. The large is, indeed, huge!
ANDREW G On second thought, like I said haven't used it...see cover says up to 3000 CI volume and our packs are 3100..call or email kelty to make sure..how odd they have their great selling pack at 3100 and reg cover may be slightly to small..I'm sure its fine but maybe not if packed fully?
ANDREW G Think I have the predecessor to the kelty redwing 50 (same size) and the regular is perfect. Still haven't used the cover yet but have it for my smaller NF recon when things undoubtedly get nasty on my SA trip. So, go for it!
ALEX A Yes, you sure can.
